Man Beheads Fulani Herdsman at Alabota

In a gruesome act of violence, a 40-year-old Fulani herdsman named Sulley Hassan has been murdered by an unemployed youth leader in the Alabota community of the North Tongu District in Ghana's Volta Region.
The suspect, 28-year-old Selase Dotse, who is an unemployed youth leader in the area, confronted Hassan over allegations that the herdsman had attacked his herd and was holding the animals hostage.
Witnesses report that Dotse returned home, armed with a sharp cutlass, and used the weapon to kill one of Hassan's cows. He then proceeded to attack the herdsman, brutally beheading him.
After committing the heinous crime, Dotse fled the scene, leaving the mutilated head of the deceased in his possession. The son of the slain herdsman reported the incident to the local Assemblyman, who immediately organized a team to search for the suspect.
The Assemblyman's efforts led the team to Dotse's residence, where they found the victim's severed head. Dotse, who is known to have a history of violent crimes, is currently the subject of a manhunt by the local police.
This incident highlights the ongoing tensions between local communities and Fulani herdsmen in parts of Ghana. Authorities are urging calm and promising a thorough investigation to bring the perpetrator to justice and prevent further escalation of the conflict.
Community leaders have called for stronger measures to address the longstanding issues between farmers and herdsmen, emphasizing the need for dialogue and collaborative solutions to prevent such tragic incidents from occurring in the future.
