Atta Mills Family Threatens Action Against Koku Anyidoho Over Wreath-Laying Chaos

Accra, Ghana - The family of the late Ghanaian President, Professor John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills, has threatened to take action against Koku Anyidoho, the former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and a close ally of the late president.
The recent wreath-laying ceremony at Asomdwee Park, the resting place of President Atta Mills, was marred by chaos as Koku Anyidoho reportedly overran his scheduled time for the event.
Samuel Atta Mills, a brother of the late president, accused Koku Anyidoho of being emboldened to take such actions because he has the support of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government. He warned that the NPP government shielding Anyidoho and influencing his actions will not rule the country forever.
Mercy Araba Ahema Quarshie, a sister of the late president, expressed the family's frustration with Koku Anyidoho's actions, stating that they have had enough of his "shenanigans" and will now take him on. She highlighted that Anyidoho has no blood relation to the late president and, therefore, lacks the legitimacy to carry out the things he has been doing.
Quarshie also criticized the incident of an 80-year-old woman tampering with Atta Mills' grave without the family's knowledge, calling it unacceptable and threatening to deal with the individual responsible.
The tensions between the Atta Mills family and Koku Anyidoho have escalated, with the family now vowing to take action against him. The family's accusations of the NPP government's involvement in empowering Anyidoho have added a political dimension to the ongoing dispute.
As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen how the Atta Mills family will proceed with their threats and whether the government's alleged support for Anyidoho will be addressed.
