The National Identification Authority (NIA) has revealed new fees for Ghana Card services at selected registration centres, effective February 4, 2025. The announcement was made on the NIA’s official Facebook page.

According to the updated fee structure:

  • First-time Registration: GHC 310.00
  • Record Updates: GHC 310.00
  • Card Replacement: GHC 420.00
  • Simultaneous Record Update and Card Replacement: GHC 355.00

Notably, the first-time issuance of the Ghana Card remains free for all applicants. However, those opting for premium centres will be required to pay the respective fees.

Additionally, the NIA has specified that card replacements at district offices across the country will cost GHC 125.00, while first-time issuance at these offices continues to be free of charge.

Since its launch, the Ghana Card has become a vital tool for accessing government services, banking, healthcare, and electoral processes. To date, more than 18 million Ghanaians have been registered. In 2024, the NIA extended its services to Ghanaians living abroad, marking a significant milestone with the first card issued in Ottawa, Canada.
