NPP's Bawumia Rallies Voters to Reject Mahama, Touts Party's Achievements
Nandom, Ghana - In a rousing speech to New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters, Vice President and Flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia urged Ghanaian voters to reject former President John Mahama in the upcoming election.
Bawumia described Mahama as "someone who represents the past of the country," stating that the former president had no better policies to improve the livelihoods of Ghanaians.
Speaking in Nandom, Bawumia highlighted the impressive achievements of the ruling NPP administration under President Nana Akufo-Addo. These include the implementation of transformative policies such as Free SHS, Free TVET, the GhanaCard, One Ambulance per District, One Village One Dam, Planting for Food and Jobs, and One District One Factory.
"Under the leadership of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Ghana is on the path to prosperity," Bawumia declared. He revealed that the government plans to introduce a new credit system that will allow Ghanaians to buy items and pay in installments, similar to the systems in the UK and other developed countries.
Bawumia's remarks come as the NPP seeks to solidify its position ahead of the 2024 general elections, with the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) led by Mahama positioning itself as an alternative.
The Vice President's passionate appeal to voters underscores the high stakes and competitive nature of the upcoming political contest in Ghana.
