Former Member of Parliament for Agona West Constituency, Cynthia Morrison, has firmly denied allegations that Kennedy Agyapong, a former NPP presidential aspirant, financed her campaign to run as an independent candidate in the 2024 elections.

In an interview on Net 2 TV on March 4, 2025, Cynthia set the record straight, saying, “I know I’m sitting on Ken Agyapong’s TV station, but I won’t lie. People claim he funded my campaign, but that’s not true. If he had, he would have admitted it himself. The truth is, he was out of the country at the time. It was actually his friend who supported me with some resources.”

Cynthia also opened up about the personal cost of her support for Ken Agyapong, revealing that it led to significant backlash, including her alleged dismissal from the New Patriotic Party (NPP). “Most of the hate I received was because of him,” she added.

After losing the NPP primary, Cynthia decided to run as an independent candidate in the 2024 elections. Her decision, however, came with its own set of challenges and controversies.

Despite the hurdles, Cynthia remains resolute, standing by her decisions and clarifying the misconceptions surrounding her campaign. Her story sheds light on the complexities of political alliances and the personal sacrifices often made in the pursuit of public service.
